Eleksyon Series IV

"Gibo"
Oil on canvas
7.5x10

This project is proving to be valuable to me in two ways.
One, I get to practice a lot on doing portraits in oil.
Two, I get to know these presidential candidates more through research.
This way, I'll be able to choose a little more wiser when the time comes.

Eleksyon Series II

Erap
oil on canvas.
8X12 inches.

Same technique as the previous piece.
The only difference is I spent more time refining the face.
But in the end, I liked "Noynoy"s looser approach better.

This is an experiment.
I started with a red primer.
A first for me.
It turned out better than i expected.
I love the the red canvas showing through in some of the parts.
I think I'm gonna do more of these.

palette: white, black, yellow ochre, alizarin crimson

old man with still life

Old man with still life
oil on canvas, 9x12 inches

It started as a still life study of an apple plus dried squid and fish about 5 months ago.
It got parked for a long time.
Then i completely lost interest on it.
So i decided to paint over the canvas with a different picture.
My initial plan was to completely cover the still life with that old sheepherder's image.
But in the middle of the process, the apple showing through made a cool effect.
So i left some significant parts of the apple and dried sea foods showing.

A dead still life canvas reincarnated as a double exposed effect painting.
